Summer Saturday Sunset Viewing: Aperol Mint Spritz
It’s an early summer Saturday evening and everyone has gathered. A fire is burning in the ring and the sun is setting in a field over the stonewall...which drink completes this scene?
A riviera staple, the Aperol spritz is at home anywhere summer shines. A unique exercise in color matching both the sunset and the fire, our Aperol spritz is an easy drinking summer cocktail with notes of intense orange, bittersweet florals, herbs, and wood, delivered with a well-rounded sparkly velvet texture. Garden fresh sprigs of mint in our aperitif highlight the herbal quality of Aperol and add a crisp freshness to the classic spritz.
Invented by brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri in Padua in 1919 (After 7 years of experimentation), Aperol is synonymous with summer nights filled with rolling laughter, sparkling conversation, and romantic surroundings. Made from an unchanged secret recipe including oranges, gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona (among other flowers, herbs, and roots), Aperol differs from its cousin, Campari, in its sweeter flavor, lower alcohol content, and decidedly orange appearance. Mix some of our Aperol mint spritzs and welcome easy summer fun.
